Default FocusIn Serving Text Ads

Encountered a potential AdSense issue today when a Skyscraper of text ads was shown on my site through Focusin. Has anyone else seen the ad?

Raises another issue. With several other companies throwing their hats into the text ad ring will we be seeing more and more of this type of ad creeping up from the nets?

Some of the networks, of course, allow their publishers to choose which ads will be shown on their sites, others don't. This can lead to text ads showing on publishers sites without the publisher even being aware of it happening. We could be passively violating the AdSense TOS, which is disturbing.

I'll be sending an email Focusin's way asking for the removal of text ads from my rotation (they removed the pops within about five minutes after I made my request ). Hopefully they will go ahead and make these changes.

Thought I'd give other Focusin publishers a head's up on the ad though.

A lot of ad networks including FocusIN and Fastclick run text ads from Google and also Bidclix...Google does not like that if you running AdSense, because that means two google ads are being displayed on the same page.

But yeah your best bet it to opt-out of the text campaigns, easy enough to do in Fastclick but FocusIN, email them and see what they can do.

You can definitely see more and more ad networks jumping on the text ads because obviously just like they help generate more revenues for publishers directly, they also help generate more revenues to the ad networks.
