brother both are different fields... Designing and Marketing. First of all, lets decide what you want to do. Then ask for help...

If you just think in your mind, it's not a way to make it. You need to make a prototype for it so that you can see what exactly looks like. And you also can make some comment on your prototype to test it till it does work. You can start it. There are so many prototype tools you can search out them. Something like Balsamiq, Axure, Mockup Plus, and Mockupbuilders or Visio. You can try them and select the perfect on for your self. Hope this is useful to you.

Yes, i totally agree with "infoman66", every designer must need HTML and CSS.

Designing and Development are two different aspects of web design. For development, you need to have knowledge of development languages like HTML, PHP, Magento etc. For design, you must know the basics of designing that are dreamweaver, photoshop, coraldraw etc. As a newbie in development, the best language to start with is HTML as it is easy to use and learn.

It's depend what kind of work you're doing. The work sphere is vast and when you go for actual work then you have to face lot's of problem. You need to know how to solve this problem by yourself. So, I think everything is most important.
