Default Help getting past Page Rank of 4...

I need help getting my web site past a page rank of 4.
All my pages were indexed by Google recently, and I'm starting to see a little bit of traffic.

Maybe 20-30 visitors a day....however, I'm still at a Page Rank of 4.

Any suggestions on how to get past 4? I'd like to get a Page Rank of 6+

Currently, when I do a Backward Links check on my domain, I have about 20 inbound links.

How many would I need for a Page Rank of 6+?

There's really not much more to it than attempting to get links from other sites. Of course, a site that already is a high PR counts for much more than a site with a lower PR. Other than that though, start writing some personal letters to other sites

As far as what you would need, it completely depends on the PR of what sites link to you. A site can usually get up to PR 5 from a couple links from some PR 6 sites.

I think you get 90% of the page rank from a page that links to you. So one link from a PR10 page would give you a PR9 page. I have a site wth just one link from a PR6 page and it has a PR5. However google is putting less importance on page rank and more on content these days.

I'm not a SEO pro but Iv'e been watching a site I purchased a few months ago and it's SE traffic after I tweaked it and slammed 200 pages of content into it.

Frankly, PR is nice but I don't even look at it and as a matter of fact will swap links with any site that meets my standards. Regardless of their PR. I'm after inbound links.

Respectfully, more content is what is needed. You have a nice script so write some articles, and really get into detail about Google. For example, see our thread where Alexa is using Google for results. Cover this and everything else which will produce lots of pages.

Iv'e observed that this 100+ pages plus a keyword rich title tag and copy which also uses the keywords is much more important than PR.

Edit: Perhaps a PR of say 6+ is a natural result of lot's of pages, regular updates, and all the other stuff I mentioned? The chicken or the egg if you will.

These are just my views and like I said, I'm not yet a SEO pro.

i shot myself in the foot!

Trying to shortcut around content....dumb mistake!

I used too many doorway pages, built from a template based tool.

My traffic was kick *** for awhile...but then it dwindled, since Google kicked out all the spam pages.

Oh well, live and learn I guess.
