Unhappy eBay through CJ

I was pondering trying out eBay's links on my sites ... and was thinking, it would be really cool if eBay would let you link using your affiliate link to specific auctions. Like say on your joke/humor site, you link to a rubber chicken auction. (Just for example, heheheh.) People would be more likely to sign up with eBay to bid on that auction than they would if you just linked to the eBay front page.

I mean, Amazon lets you do this with their books ... although, I guess their book selection isn't as constantly changing as eBay. I mean, the only real problem with this strategy is that after a couple days, a week at most, the affiliate links would lead to a "This auction has ended." page. But even then, the visitor would be able to see the type of auctions that go on, and I would assume be more willing to register.

Ya think? I would try running eBay campaigns if I could link to specific auctions.

A good idea.. it would even be good if you could just link to specific categories instead of just the main eBay page..

Has anybody noticed a drop in leads since switching to CJ? I don't think they officially announced they are leaving ClickTrade, but it was easier for me to combine companies and use CJ.

Ack, I just brought this up in another thread ... linking to specific eBay auctions (or keyword searches) would rock. If eBay's not working on it, they should.

Here's my first attempt:

I see a decent conversion rate now. A direct link to keyword search results would be absolutely awesome.

Cheers,
Dan
