Default BEYOND.COM AFFILIATE PROGRAM

A customer wanted to buy Norton AntiVirus today and after all his credit card details were taken they informed him that it only ships in the US. We live in Ireland!
This is not what I expected when I joined up.

The net is International we don't need this kind of rubbish.

I Was Fish but wiped my cookie file and hade to register again.
All the best

1. How do you know this happened ?

2. Doesn't it say on the product's page which countries it can be bought from ? Why not post this info on your site for individual products you link to, to avoid "wasted" click thrus

3. I don't think the fault is beyond's : I think it's the manufacturer/distributor of particular products. Presumably because prices/licenses/software sometimes vary between countries.

4. My Beyond wishlists

i. Better descriptions. Some products just have a (sometimes cryptically abbreviated) title and a price.

ii. More programming stuff (Delphi, VB, C++/MFC, Java components)

Dont think I'm rude or anything, but what does this have to do with 'making money on the internet'?

Well I'm happy with Beyond (mostly)

The international section is a waste of time in my view.

The good stuff is scattered all over. Many products in all sections can be sold outside the US. You have to spend time to find the good stuff, and individually link to products of interest. Plus add text on your site. Don't link to stuff you don't know enough about to write about - you can blow you credibility really easily.

My only real complaints :-
1. Not enough programmers tools in their catalog (I'd like to see Stingray, Sax, etc)

2. Some items have very brief or missing descriptions.

3. Video tutorials (they fit my site and visitor profile) look really good - but have no description and are listed as "Unix (Tape)" when I think they mean "NTSC (VHS)"
