Default Google opts to shut down Lively

Google's launched its own social, 3D virtual world approximately six months ago. This enabled people to interact in environments of their making, with rooms filled with sights and sounds of their choosing.

The system was part of Google Labs, which is known to be experimental in nature, but Google's decision to shut down the service by the end of this year has upset many of those who had invested time into creating intricate content on the platform.
