Very interesting indeed...I will definately look into this to see if I can find anything about it. It is pretty hard though because Adbonus.com hides their identity very well. I tried calling the numbers but keep getting invalid number messages from AT & T.

LastActionHero:
Still have the info for your stats that showed you that someone was accessing your site through FineClicks? I would like to see that if you can get me that info (you can email it to me if you want). The referring url and other info should help out alot...but then again, all merchants can review websites that applied to their offer from their login area.

Blazebox:
Are you referring to the line of text that you have for your website url?

I would also like to note that no merchants have access to your email address until you apply to their offer. I have my small list of potential suspects by reviewing some affiliate accounts and see what offers they were running. But I can't point the finger just yet with no solid evidence or with no information.

This is, of course, only IF the source is actually coming from anything that is FineClicks related whatsoever.

Chet, yes I am - And as far I'm aware (and I consider myself very aware) FineClicks is the only place I use that line of text as my URL ...

Chet,

I got this as well, and it comes from the email I (only) used for FineClicks. I have unlimited vanity emails and use unique ones for every affiliate program I signup with, to identify where everything comes from.

No doubt you don't have anything to do with this yourself. Just a heads up.

I just got it from an address I use on several networks. I am not currently a member of FineClicks so the version I received could not have originated from a merchant of theirs. Obviously it is likely multiple sources of addresses could have been used. From looking at what programs I am signed up with with the E-Mail address that I received a letter from, I have a decent idea of which network the mail I received originated from (or a merchant of the network). But, since I cannot be sure, I won't mention the name.

I'm wondering whether there's a bug in the affiliate software or anything - isn't the software FineClicks, Affiliatefuel and Adorigin use made by the same person? Thought I overheard that somewhere ... just a mind rambling ...

Yes, the same person made all three of our programs. I referred the person that did my programming to AF...not sure how AdOrigin came about...The thing is is that this hasn't happened before so I don't see how it would now...

Is anyone members to all 3 of these and use different email addresses for each one and then got one of those adbonus.com emails to each of those email addresses?

If I am reading the whois lookup correctly the adbonus.com also seem to own:

WorldHot.com
FloppyBank.com (another ad network)

The DNS is for DotVenture.com which I went to that site and thought it was kind of ironic that it had Fraud Watch information on it.

Hey Chet,

I can confirm the worldhot connection. The following is copied verbatim from the message source of the email I received from Robert Croski at adbonus:

Received: from alpha.worldhot.com (alpha.worldhot.com [64.49.222.179])

Go get 'em Chet!

Please keep in mind that it may or may not have anything to do with a roque merchant from FC. Chet is only taking the initiative to make sure his network is clean. Kudos to you Chet for doing such a great job. Now if you guys could just get some good webmaster related CPAs
