Default Domains and Values

I have a few domain names (ok over 200) and I wanted to know if there is a good place to 1. get them appraised and 2. promote them to sell.

THe ones I am looking at getting rid of are:

bad.net
cockroach.com
coffeecan.com
texasblogem.com
teenresource.com

Any help would be appreciated.

Appraisals can vary greatly. Most are trash, and generally just stroke the ego of the domain holder (usually in order to get more appraisals). I wouldn't personally recommend any of them.

I typed in a couple of the names you listed and neither resolved. The first thing I would do is sign up at Sedo.com, list them for sell, and park them while you're looking for a buyer. Sedo may even list bad.net on the front page; its a great name (at least $xx,xxx) and, if listed, will draw all kinds of attention immediately from other speculators. Plus you'll get the parking revenue while they sit. You'll also get to see the type of traffic they can pull, and how many times someone has viewed the "sale offer" listed on the parked page. This can be invaluable advice when determining a selling price.

Remember, domain name beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Some good ones will sit for while, and others will surprise you. If you're willing to wait it out, you've got a couple of really nice ones on your hands. Good luck!

teenresource.com can be sold to some kind of non profit organization for helping teens deal with personal problems. I'd appraise the value to be around $100

bad.net is a descent domain can be used for a few things, its main attraction is the three letter name, a 3 letter .net is worth approximately $500 due to it being an actual word in english language that can double its value easily.

The other ones I don't see much value for it in the name, and is worth under $50 each unless developed into a site.

I recently sold Vietnamese.com for $7000.

Cheers

As a part-time "domain speculator", I can personally say that BAD.net is worth quite a bit more than $500.

I base this estimate on recent Snapnames auctions of 3 letter .net's that have no phonetic meaning going well into the low thousands. Also, a much less worthy 3-letter .net word went for over $4,000 recenty. So my guess is, if someone wants it, you're looking at $10,000 easy. My opinion is to take NO LESS than $5,000 for it. If you are looking to move fast and want to go half that, e-mail me.

Also, since I'm "speculating" :

cockroach.com looks to be worth about $1,000, but could easily go for double that. I have sold names much worse than this for more, but that feels like the right price to me. No less than $500.

teenresource.com is a complete wildcard. It could sit for years but, if someone wants it, it could go into the thousands. Again, if you want to move it, I'd take no less than $500 for it.

The other 2 are very eh... Personally, I'd put coffecan.com out on sedo for $299 (their value section) and see if it gets any offers. Don't expect much if anything. texasblogem.com is pretty iffy; if you can move it at all, I'd do so.

Just my opinions.

The only domain names I auction are ones I have totally given up on. Unless you NEED to get rid of it, I would definately NOT auction bad.net. Park it at Sedo.com. You will almost surely get offers right away. Why limit the sell time, when a killer offer may be 6 months down the road? Renewal fees are nothing these days.

Personally, I'd park at least that one, teenresource.com and cockroach.com and wait for a good offer. If you don't get anything after several months, then go the auction route, but at least give them a chance to get top dollar.

ok, another question. Since I have all of these domains, some of which are generating some traffic/revenue on Sedo, should I point them to my main site to increase traffic there?

LittleLeagueBaseball.com is doing well because it is that time of the year.

Or should i create a site around the domain and see what it can do in temrs of ad revenue?

Thanks in advance.

most good domains don't sell thru ebay but there are exceptions

at this moment science.tv is listed at ebay with 30 bids ... high bid $38,371.06 in US Dollars ... reserve not met and auction ending in approx 17 hours

ext.com has 7 days left at ebay and is bid at $20,001.

I was offered $7000 for Italy.net, but I think it is worth more.

I think you are correct. Your Italy name should be worth much more, maybe even six figures.

I have a few NationBlog.com names and a few of the largest populated CityBlog.com names. Doesn't seem to be much demand but i think i'll keep some of them long term.

Good luck with your names. Looks like you have a good knack for picking them.
