Default Commission Sales Reps

Commission sales reps to sell CPM ads or mailings must exist? Anyone know what percentage of sales is typically given to these people?

I was gonna get into the Ad Industry (CPM) a while back before the downfall. Anyway I was promising the sales people, these percentages for each SINGLE sale.

7.5% commission for a sale of $50-$250
10% commission for a sale of $251-$1000
15-20% commission for a sale of $1000+

I have been wondering the same, but decided I would look at my expenses first.

I have talked to someone that runs a network, and he pays his sales guys 45%NET.

I believe I know who/what network your talking about.
And my only response to that is the owner can provide that type of commission because he gives his publishers a .02 cent CPC.

But If Suave wants to give his Publishers a decent/competitive CPM rate, he will have to give his team alot lot less.
I stand by the rates I suggested.

RB,

Mapping out a commision structure should vary depending on expenses.

I would assume that would be the only way to determine how much you can pay out--- to first determine expenses.

Also, an ad rep I am talking with right now used to work for Doubleclick and he said he would like to have a similar commision structure, which was 40-60 at Doubleclick.
