Default StatBrain

I came across this site recently:
http://www.statbrain.com/

"With Statbrain.com you can find out how many visitors any site has, enter the site into the form below."

Might come in handy working out target market sizes, if you thinking about launching a new website.

Worked pretty accurately for my sites, was wondering how it work for you all.

Cheers,
Mubs

Its a site that has been tweaked quite a bit, getting more accurate as time goes by. You can find some more info about it at http://www.nettalk.us/viewtopic.php?t=5234

Great concept. Hopefully the system will start to draw from other statistical indices eventually also, given that it currently perpetuates many of the flaws associated with Alexa.

The system already does produce some fairly accurate results, though, showing real promise as an approximator of website traffic.

I noticed some in the thread that Rivux mentioned found it to be off. I checked it on four sites that were not webmaster related and found it to be way, way, way, way, way off.

From what I read, it does use Alexa at least as a portion of how it tries to make a determination. Alexa is installed by webmaster by a much larger percentage than the general public. Also Alexa is installed more in some countries than others.

Even though Alexa is far from being accurate but this possibly uses other factors as well, I still wonder if it might just be possible for it to come closer to being accurate with webmaster related sites than other type of sites. That is nothing more than a guess. I also notice that statbrain is new and still needs some work. Some people are saying it is close to accurate and others are saying it is wrong by a lot.

It's quite a way off for my sites (it actually makes my less popular site 8 times as popular as my more popular site).

I do only have small levels of traffic though

Quite an interesting tool anyway

well i have tested it and i found the results are not even near to an estimate...

i personally use quite a long time now metricsmarket.com which results are better in accuracy.
