Default New advertiser: Demologic ... opinions?

Got an email from this company today, offering a decent CPM for non-activex single popup ads:

http://www.demologic.net/

Their email sounded legit, and site looked decent ... until I noticed those little orange and grey guys on the front page and warning alarms started going off ... VALUEAD!!! (The same orange/grey guys are still used on ValueAd's site.)

I checked the WHOIS for demologic.net and it was registered recently (strike two?), but there's no obvious connection to ValueAd ... however, the fact that some of the same graphics are used means that probably either there is some direct connection between the two, or that they just copied the graphics off ValueAd's site, neither of which inspires much confidence ......

I had the same suspicions about the graphics, but still emailed them back, and their reps were always very polite and quick to respond.

I am not trying them out myslef as the rates they were offering did not match those of fastclick, and I don't have any 'spare' impressions to try them out with. However, their rates certainly seemed pretty good.

Please note that this is not a recommendation for demologic, as I have never used them myself, simply a comment that their staff seem responsive and polite to deal with.

For those that haven't recieved an invite to join demologic - http://www.demologic.net/ - they are a very new ad network specialising in pops and activeX. The rates offered to me were higher than popuptraffic for simple pops, but this may be on a site by site basis.

I would personally like to find out if anyone is using them, and if they have any relationship with valuead though???

Cheers

Tim

Wow, we are being talked about already Currently Demologic is only looking at select sites for our publisher network as we are in the process of rolling out some cool new services. I would like to state for the record that we have no affiliation whatsoever with ValueAD and after reading this post and checking out valuead.com I can see why there is some confusion. I have emailed my web developer about what seems to me to be obvious lifting of some graphics from another site. This will be removed as soon as he responds as I was quite frankly pretty upset when I saw this. Demologic works with select advertisers and publishers and as we continue to build our network we hope to have the support of many geekVillage users.

Cheers,

Hi demologic,

Thanks for replying Sorry if my first post sounded a bit caustic, its just that ValueAd has quite a bad rep around these parts, glad to hear you're not affiliated with them at all.

I am not to fond of companies that resort to SPAMMING potential publishers when promoting their "services". A lot of companies have done this before, and just about all of them (which, at that time, sounded legit) are gone. Some of them were Adworldnetwork, adlogix, fastadvert, eastworldnetwork, and valuead. If people are to learn from the past, it would be wise not to repeat it with new networks that come out of the blue from no where. Just keep that in mind when you try out brand new networks that have no credibility and do now advertising. It's also good to mention that they sport no company name, telephone, or fax number. Only an e-mail address. Sorry to be the person with the negative outlook, but this one says stay away.

Just my opinion. Do what you like.

They do give an address, which is a start, but I would agree that a network would have to give their phone number on their site before I would think about using them.

So Demologic - if you're reading this thread - that might be an idea

Regards,

Tim

I will try and answer the questions that have been posted here..

1.) Demologic has never resorted to spam and does not do any email advertisng either for ourselves or our clients. We simply sent out a few emails to sites we wanted to test our service out with. These sites had clear contact information posted and as you can see by the size of the sites we have signed up none are very big in terms of traffic.

2.) We have written a custom back-end for a publicly available Ad-Serving product. We are working very closely with the webmasters that we have signed up to make sure all tracking is working 100% and all anti-fraud measures are working 100%. As some of these posters can attest we are currently working around the clock to be ready for a large launch at the end of the month.

3.) We do not display a public phone number at this time because we are spending all of our time right now on testing and finishing the development work. We have also signed deals with several very large advertisers and we are working with them on testing the structure and effectiveness of our custom Ad optimization engine. Please feel free to PM me if you would like to talk in person and I will gladly give out our phone number. As some of our publishers can attest to we answer all emails within 2 hours of receipt.

4.) We are not actively taking any more publishers at this time. However please feel free to PM if this is something you might be interested in going forward.

5.) Demologic will be the highest paying pure CPM program on the net by the time we launch

This simply says to me. We are running on a shoestring, we do not have big enough of a staff to handle what we are doing, let alone actually answer the phone.

Thanks for your remarks
We are a very well funded start-up. Yes we have the staff, NO we are not open for business! what do you not understand about being in beta test mode? Please try and call google and speak with someone about GMail and see how far you get maybe they dont have the funding or staff? Our company is comprised of many industry veterans and when we launch offically you will realize how silly this kind of comment is..

Cheers,

You aren't google.

But if you found enough people to trust you this far, good for you I guess. But this industry is filled with industry vets starting terrible ideas that go down in flames owing people thousands of dollars.

Sorry, I was not directly comparing our company to Google once Iread the post i laughed to myself a bit because that is kind of how it came off. Look I understand your skeptisism and I do understand. However we are trying to establish ourselves and we are fully testing to make sure there are no bugs once we hit primetime. We are putting in place some measures that we feel will ultimately make publishers feel more comfortable signing on with a new network. This includes payment every two-weeks with a variety of payment options. We will however be very selective on the publishers we allow to remain in our network since we will be paying very high CPM rates. A good portion of our clients are looking for Branding and are well known names including companies such as Blockbuster and Apple that are launching new products and services and want to increase awareness. Please be patient as more will be revealed when we offically launch. There is an advertiser portal which is very similar to CPAempire, CJ and Linkshare however the goals of these campaigns are not always sales. Expect to see a lot of Movies in the new year Cryptic enoough?

<Ladies and gents. Please retract the "fangs" Halloweeeen is about 9 months away and then it will be cool. Thank you >

Orion Holtby,

Child of the 60s and former CTO of Adlogix.com! Welcome back to the Village

I have a respectfull question or two given the due dillegence from public sources which I have just performed for my beloved GEEKS of the Village:

1.Is their any relationship/connection between the officers and or employees of DEMOLOGIC.NET and or it's parent and the defunct adlogix.com?

2. I just tried to call the phone number of +1.7788897449 which is listed in the Whois for DEMOLOGIC.NET. This number does not work. An affiliate program without 100% accurate data in Whois is always a red flag.

3. What are your phoine numbers?

Thanks in advance for your help.

There is no connection whatsoever between Adlogix my former employer and demologic.net. As you may or may not know Adlogix Media Group is no longer in business. I worked for Adlogix for the better part of 3 years and was also a share holder. I was responsible for the technology development at the company. I am involved in Demologic.net as one of the founders and we hope to bring the vision we wanted to see grow at Adlogix come to life in this new venture. Due to pending litigation I am not at liberty to discuss much regarding the demise of Adlogix but needless to say I lost big time when Adlogix went out of business. I am the ONLY former employee of Adlogix involved in Demologic. The rest of the team come from other Ventures in the same area of expertise. We will be opening offices in Vancouver, Florida and Hamburg Germany officially as of Feruary 1st. Please feel free to ask if I have not covered this subject well enough. Steve that is my personal cell phone number and I will charge it up right now you can call me on it in 15 minutes should you wish to talk.
