Fantastic News and thanks for the post

The first legal battle which is still in progress and Gator has yet to counter sue may be found here:

http://www.geekvillage.com/forums/sh...threadid=17893

From what I know, the injunction from the first law suit is still in force. I would exspect another one from this latest suit.

Edit: Gator lost this in the first legal case:

"...A U.S. Appellate Court this week denied a motion by Gator to stay a preliminary injunction ordered against the software provider, according to the plaintiffs' attorney. ..."

Ain't it cool .

Gator getting beat-up by other big money companies.

This one is a little different to me. Since UPS has no outside ads on their site. In the first big suit against Gator the sites involved all show 3rd party ads and I thought those ads being covered was part of their complaint??? In this case it's just a site saying we never authorized you to pop up stuff over our site.

That's what I liked about it, they devalued ups' ad's, hehe, I love it.

While this is great news, I am taking a wait and see approach. That is, I am hoping these bigger publishers will refuse to settle and pursue the legal battle to the end in order to set an example of Gator as a warning to other would-be scumware startups.

If all that happens is a settlement, I personally do not feel it would send a strong enough message to the other ethically-challenged companies. A precedent might be set, yes, but an out-of-court settlement simply will not have the same impact as a headline that reads, "Gator Loses its Skin".
