Default Engage Debt Free

http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/7/27046.html

Could this mean Engage will return to ad-serving?

I doubt they'd make a return to the media side of things, but this certainly improves their immediate prospects as a software firm.

Few would purchase an expensive ad management license from a firm who may not be afloat long enough to serve out the terms of its contract, and while Engage is still far from profitable, the loss of its debt hindrance clearly improves the company's chance of survival and subsequent appeal as a service provider.

Throughout this year, Engage has been advertising quite heavily within trade publications; their long-standing INT Media (internet.com) online sponsorship deal probably the most visible of these. Those ads primarily pitch the company's ad serving product, which suggests that they do still see a business in that market.

I was actually hoping we'd seen the end of Engage, please don't let them inflict more suffering on us.

Engage this month announced the sale of its ad management products to a group consisting of the unit's managers. The management team have created a new entity called Accipiter Solutions (in a return to the namesake of a software firm acquired by Engage during the bubble) that will control AdManager and AdBureau. Engage will continue as a software firm offering workflow automation and digital rights management products.
