Hello,
I'm having trouble getting visitors to my banner exchange site. I offer a 1:1 banner display ratio and I thought that this would bring a lot of customers, but it hasn't yet. I've submitted to tons of search engines but none of them seem to have added me to their databases. What else can I do? The site is in my signature. Thanks in advance. ------------------ BannerSmile Banner Exchange Network -1:1 banner display ratio. |

Hi WCMike
I have now added you to my site at: http://www.webstuff4free.com/banners.asp Until I add a new resource you will also be on the front page. Hopefully this may help you a little. I do have to say, however, that my Banner Exchange page is not one of the busiest. Of all the free webmaster services I have listed, people just don't seem interested in them anymore. The question I have along with many other people is what is in it for you to offer a 1:1 ratio.? Maybe people are sceptical. Perhaps you could offer an answer to this on your sales pitch on the front of the site. What is the main problem? Is it lack of total traffic or just a very poor conversion rate? If visitors are coming but not signing up then this may well be the problem. If you are not getting visits then it is a promotion problem and I would suggest work in that area maybe including setting up an affiliate scheme such as ClickXchange.com. I Hope this is of some help Jason ------------------ We know where webmaster's get it for FREE! - http://www.webstuff4free.com Classic American Car fans - http://www.carsandstripes.com Body Builders advice forum - http://www.MuscleTalk.co.uk |

Ooh, I've just noticed this in your FAQs.

Another interesting change on the normal banner exchange theme is www.bannermillion.com who offer the 'normal' 2:1 ratio but offer 500,000 free impressions - I have been trying them out for a couple of weeks. However, they owe me about 3000 impressions and don't seem to be able to keep up. I had serious doubts about the math of this I guess it has been confirmed. When I approached them about it they said give it time as they were quite new but 'growing'. I think this illustates that even with a (apparently) attractive offer Banner Exchanges still have trouble getting off the ground. I haven't looked at what you are running but I have lost count of how many people who have requested to be listed on my site who are using the Banner Plus (free) script and they all disappear after a short while. The thing about this script is that it has given many people the chance to set up an exchange but it just flooded the market. I think it also has the problem that many people using it tend to get kicked off their host eventually. Hi webstuff4free,
Thank you very much for listing me in your site, that was very kind of you. The main problem is actually both poor traffic and and a poor conversion ratio. I just started the site about a week ago and I am receiving only about 10 unique visitors a day. None of the search engines seem to have added me to their databases. Of the 10 visitors a day, usually none of them sign up. Receving too much traffic is not much of a worry right now because I probabaly could handle almost 2 million banner impressions a month right now. I'll check out bannermillion.com, I've never heard of them before. If you have any more advice please let me know because you have been most helpful. If anyone else has suggestions please let me know. Thank you. ------------------ BannerSmile Banner Exchange Network -1:1 banner display ratio. |
