Default Facebook to become a movie star

That's right. Believe it or not, the current world leader in social networking is due to take the starring role in a movie attached to writer Aaron Sorkin (The West Wing) and Sony producer Scott Rudin (No Country for Old Men).

The film in question is expected to chart the foundation of the site and the amazing impact it has had on Gen-Y popular culture during its brief lifespan.

Read more about the project here:

Will this one be on your summer viewing list, or do you imagine the concept too challenging to get off the ground?

When I was growing up, I used to dream about becoming a movie star. But it takes a lot more than dreams to get ahead."

What? The film hasn't yet been produced. Have you seen another that stars Facebook? Is the Web 2 leader already a bonafide A-Lister?

Oh, really? I thought I have already seen it with that movie that starred Justin Timberlake. What was that again? I forgot the title.

Hi XelinB,

That's the one! The film was called The Social Network, and it was pretty well received all around.

This discussion thread was started back on 2008, before the film was produced, which accounts for the confusion.

Kind regards,
