Default Man charged with infecting computers

James Ancheta has been arrested and charged with infecting 400,000 computers that helped send spam e-mail.

He is said to have sold access to the infected compters to spammers and he is charged with downloading adware on infected computers for his own profit.

He could face 50 years in prison. But for now $60,000 in cash has been confiscated from him, as well as computer equipment and a BMW.

He infected 400,000 computers, but only made $60,000 from it? I would have expected him to get at least $1 out of each computer. :P

A bunch of money would go to equipment, house/apartment and utilities but once you factor in a larger amount per infected computer there is likely to be a lot more than $60,000 left over.
