Help with vBulletin script - geek/talk: Signature-free discourse for serious web publishers

I'm having trouble writing a script for vBulletin. I want the script to be run from the scheduled tasks every month at midnight server time.

The main forum is labelled by the month of the year. I want to be able to run a scheduled task at the beginning of a new month that will lock the previous month to stop further posting and make a new forum, named the same as the next month.

e.g. On April 1st, 00:01, the task generates the April forum. The March forum is then locked to stop posting.

I have tried several ideas myself but my php / SQL knowledge is letting me down !!

Any help would be appreciated.

Have you checked the plugins available at vbulletin.org? Whilst I was looking for something else yesterday, I noticed one to close threads after x *time*.It is a good idea, mainly on larger forums. If I can retrace my steps leading to the find, I will edit my post
