I just received my first warning for invalid clicks generated through my websites and emailed them about it. My click-through rate has always been the same since the first day I used them and I understand that they probably wouldn't send this to me unless there was some questionable activity regarding the clicks.
However, I am curious if anyone has received this warning multiple times and still retained their adsense account. Maybe I'll feel better if I know majority of the publishers has gotten this notice before. |

BrianHeHe,
Just curious... what kind of site do you run and how much clicks are you generating? Is it time to really panic? |

Me neither, but I'm always paranoid about it, and my heart always skips a beat when I see a "Google Adsense Support" e-mail in my mailbox.

I got one about 5 months ago. Certainly it had no relationship to any activity on my part. Nothing ever came of it.
I was paranoid about Google email for months afterwards too. It's a flaw with the system. It's hard to be loyal and committed to program who's loyalty to you blows in the wind. Every day I look forward to that time when there is an alternative to AdSense so I can further diversify my site's income. |

I had a person who had a competiting site to mine who would go tto the site every day and click like 10 links. I got an email from them, then banned his IP ad everything has been fine since then. I think if they see the same UIP in 24 ours ( or if they seem the same IP like 3 times in 48 hours ) they get worried. I actually had One site tken off because I had a click from the same IP 4 times in 24 hours. It's wasn't me and I have no idea who it was, but if they see multiple clicks over short span they think cheating.
The sad part about this is. I know a guy who ran a site, and he could click one link a day ($1.10 per click). He;d do it every day from his home computer. Once a day from his work computer. And once a day from his girlfirnds computer. After they di an audit on it, cause 3 clicks a day coming from the same IP for 25 days *$82.50) they became a little worried about it. and it's people like that who ruin the Whole thing. If a single IP catches 2 clicks in 24 that will set up a red flag! |

Makes yiou wonder how many sites are red flagged at the moment. I do agree though, when the adsense earnings are such a large part of your income (they probably generate over 90% of my website income) you can get a little paranoid.
I don't know why but looking at my adsense stats my CTR has more than doubled what it was when I first started using adsense last year. I have added a couple of different types of sites to my portfolio which might explain the increase I guess.

welcome to Geek/Talk, Funny Face.
Yes it is safe to use AdSense and yes you can get something out of it. AdSense is a Google program and they are a multi-billion dollar corporation. No one worries about getting paid. The only thing Google expects is for you to follow their very simple rules. Don't cheat and don't try any tricks to try to get extra money. They don't allow adult sites and a few other types, but most sites can be accepted. They accept publishers from many countries from around the world. All you need to do is to apply and see what they tell you. Here is the AdSense link https://www.google.com/adsense/ |

Hey thank you very much
I keep hearing about these sites offering you packages containing hundreds of web links. I feel when its time to part with my money there is a catch at some point. Thanks again Larwee Last edited by Funny Face; 03-29-2006 at 04:36 PM. |

Funny Face, that is a different issue. I would stay MILES away from those link package offers you are talking about. What I was talking about was dealing directly with Google, building your own sites, getting approved by Google, putting AdSense code on your site and following the rules established by Google. Buying those packages you are talking about is not a good route to take.
