Question for the Britney sites (or anybody else interested in photographs on a site) - geek/talk: Signature-free discourse for serious web publishers

Where do you guys get the photographs from ? And do you worry about copyright ?

I want to add photos of celebs & cars to one of my sites (not Britney Spears) - where do I get them without violating anybody's copyright ??

Hey WildComputer,

Stealing somebody's images won't be a problem unless you fail to take the image down after the owner of the image sees it.

Simply, if (ever) the owner of the image asks you to take down the photo from your web site, then just do it.

You're allowed 1 warning, it is after the warning you are taken into legal matters.

I'd have to agreed, generally no one is gonna rush off to the court house if you've got their stuff, too costly. Lawyers cost far too much money and litigation can take what seems like forever. However, if the stuff being used without permission is being used in some extreme manner then no warning shot may be fired, it may warrant the cost of an attorney.

ok, this is an easy one. there are so many pics of celebrities that no one will be able
to tell or care where you got the pics from.
The only sites that do care, usually tag their images with their url somewhere on the
pic. if that's the case, then they still don't care it just means they are looking for credit for where you found the pics.
As for the magazines coming after you, the truth is that many of the teen mags actually encourage you to use their pictures and copy
them and whatever. the artists will not come after you because you are working to promote them(even if in reality it is for you).
So the bottom line is...you have nothing to wory about.
