Default Xupiter Toolbar

Does anyone here know anything about Xupiter? They seem to be the most parasitic program out there right now, and it doesn't seem like anyone is saying anything about them. Their program downloads automatically without my permission, and I know at least one member of these boards is doing this on his site RIGHT NOW. I will not say this member's name, but I will tell you that it starts with an "s" and ends with "ubprofile". This member has not posted in well over a year. I just visited his site and soon after I realized that the Xupiter toolbar had been installed on my computer.

Here's what the Xupiter package includes: toolbar with Xupiter links, adds about 7 or 8 new categories in my Favorites folder, replaces my default internet explorer Search with Xupiter's search (so when I click on Search from my IE browser I get something that looks similar to the Search that comes with IE, but all the links are Xupiter's), replaces my default homepage with the Xupiter homepage, replaces the default "Cannot be found" page with Xupiter page.

I would say that Xupiter has caused me more problems than all the viruses that I have ever had, combined. Does anyone know anymore information on this horrible software and any good ways to block it?

Here is some Whois info that I found:

Domain Name: XUPITER.COM
Registrar: TUCOWS, INC.
Whois Server: whois.opensrs.net

I put a page up about it (I hope this isn't against the rules)

The uninstaller failed to delete everything from Xupiter. I think they are modifying and re-releasing Xupiter on a constant basis, without updating the uninstaller. I was hoping someone could find a program that blocked it from being downloaded. Even when I do go through the rather lengthy process of deleting all Xupiter files I usually pick it up again within a few days.

By the way, I found out the following information about the losers that make and distribute this program. It seems that its a father and son operation:

Saeid and Daniel Yomtobian
17657 Rancho
Encino, CA 91316
Phone: (818)-881-3067)

If you search Google for their names you'll find numberous lawsuits that have been filed against them. Big surprise there. They are also an official domain registrar. Good thing we have ICANN to control who gets the power to distribute domains.

I can't even say in these forums the things I want to do to these 2 ****mers.

The last time I got Xupiter on a computer, the newest version of Adaware took it out. Took a couple of runs, bit it did it.

I've mentioned them in a previous post

http://www.geekvillage.com/forums/sh...threadid=19378

Here's what you do to block them (and make sure your browser setting is as strict as possible for restricted sites)
