Google is my favorite search engine, just as it is with so many people. But I do use and test other search engines to see how they perform as well as looking to see if they have any interesting features which other search engines might later adopt.
I also explore meta search engines to see what type of results they will give. I've seen good ones as well as bad ones. There is one named Seekz. It might not be the best I've ever seen but I've seen meta search engines which aren't as good. Actually Seekz is said to be a university project. The main thing it tries to do with the results is to eliminate duplicates.
