Angry Sites exploiting IE spyware bug - Working on fix

Microsoft is working on a fix for a flaw in Internet Explorer that is being used by Web sites to install spyware on the computers of people visiting those sites.

There are now about 200 sites taking advantage of this vulnerability and that number is expected to rise.

Microsoft doesn't have a fix yet. They expect to have one April 11, 2006, but possibly earlier. Some security expects say this is too long. They are telling people to visit sites they trust or to use another browser instead of Internet Explorer.

There are some third-part fixes available for this vulnerability. The one mentioned most often is from eEye and it will automatically remove itself when the Microsoft patch is available.
