hi all,

Im about to sign a contract with a webmaster agreeing to host his website on my server for a year. He's going to pay me the money for the whole year in advance using paypal. The amount is not high enough to warrant using an escrow service. Ive been thinking. Is it possible for him to cancel or stop payment once the money is in my paypal account. Ive emailed paypal but figured i would get a faster response this way.

Sorry about the grammar but im in a hurry.

Thanks in advance.

I don't believe that there is such thing as a stop payment w/ paypal, or that they can can just take their money back. At the most, I believe that they are able to request money. Why not just have paypal send you a check when you receive payment, so that even if he wanted to take the money back from paypal, he/she couldn't.

If he sends an eCheck with PayPal, its fairly easy to cancel...but only until the check clears (4-5) business days.

Also, he may request a refund for fraud...PayPal is supposed to conduct an investigation...not sure how that works, but you should be fine. http://geekvillage.com/ubb/smile.gif

This article is more of a warning for paypal purchasers, and it is old (July), but definitely worth a look if you buy anything with paypal.
