Hey everbody...

I run a bunch of wrestling videogame websites and I'm currently hosted at a wrestling page but have been thinking of getting my own domain. So, recently, I've been looking into a little bit about buying a domain and getting a web hosting service and going out on my own.

Has anybody dealt with the different web hosting/domain purchasing companies (Register.com is one I looked at and I also looked at Communitech which looked good, but I honestly don't know one hosting service from another) and can anyone please give me a few pointers in which direction to go in.

The problem I think I'm going to run into is that while my website doesn't take up a huge MB total (I run about 5 different videogame websites with more to come, although only one or two are updated now with the rest for older games) they are hundreds of pages in my because of all the created wrestler tempalates I have. I just put all my files in one folder and it's about 25 MB..Which isn't in the 5-10 range but sure isn't gigantic either.

Because of the giant page count I'd be serving a lot of pages since my visitors go to all the different pages. So, I guess what I'm trying to say (And probably confusing you in the process which I'm sorry for) is that I saw on a few of the rate plans like "pages served" and with all of the pages I have and the hits I get, I'd exceed what they'd give me. Am I just not understanding what pages served are? Like if I get 4000 visitors per day and they each visit 2 pages of my site per day, that's almost 250,000 pages visited in a month which would put me over some of the plans I saw.

I don't know very much about HTML and all that. I have a guy who has designed the websites for me and I use Notepad Plus to update them so I honestly wouldn't know what to do with CGI (Even though I'd love to set up my own CGI message board, though I have no clue how) and don't even know that PHP is. I know I should try to learn some of these things (I tried downloading a trial version of Flash to make a Flash intro thinking I could make a good one since I was good making stuff like that with Powerpoint and boy did I get a wake up call) so maybe I could add those options in the future.

I guess what I'm looking for is just a solid server with good tech support that won't crash and allows me some flexibility to upgrade features as I learn them.

Thanks a lot for all of your help.

There are two webhosts which I know of that have a very high bandwidth allotment which you might want to check out, www.liquidweb.com (http://www.liquidweb.com) ( 30GB of transfer, the works, $25 ) and www.hosting4less.com (http://www.hosting4less.com) ( 25GB of bandwidth, etc., $25 ). I host my site with LiquidWeb and their tech support is great, can't comment on hosting4less.com though, never tried em'. They both come with plenty of features already, so just use them as you learn how.

I am using Site Chaser for hosting and their services are great. Low price, with good features. I think their plans start at $9 and that includes unlimited bandwidth and your own CGI bin. Their web site is at: http://www.sitechaser.com Check it out.

If you have high bandwidth requirements you might want to checkout http://website.yahoo.com/

15gig for $15/month - 100mb disk space
30gig for $30/month - 250mb disk space

I've never used their support but the reliablitity has been good and the connection to the internet must be big since it is very fast.
