View Full Version : What's the best size for thumbnails?

What do you think is the best size for thumbnail images? I use 100 width x 100 height - is that too large or small? Should all thumbnails be the same size or should they be in proportion to the original image? I want clear images, but at the same time I want the visitor to click-thru for the impression.

Would text descriptions work better than thumbnails or do people like to preview the image first?

really depends on the orginal fize dimensions... i run a desktop theme site which is built around thumbnail galleries and the wallpapers are 800x600 so i use 120x90 and on another site i use 160x120 for 800x600 images.

For me i think a visitor who more likely click through if they can see some detail of the image...
