Does anybody know if www.commonname.com is scumware? I cant seem to get rid of it. sometimes (only sometimes) when a url fails in Internet explorer I get a commonname screen. I found a reference to it in my internet options (IE6) and I disabled all. It still appears from time to time. I even ran adaware.

TIA

Did you run Ad-Aware with the newest reference files from their web site?

Yep, I got the update (3-19-02) and it found 9 new components. mostly ezula and cydoor. I think that should take care of it. one reference to alexa also? mmm.. I never did install the alexa plugin?

you can also try bhodemon but really just go to commonname website and they should say somewhere how to deactivate it, or if you're smart enough to know what it is, just go to control panel/add/remove programs and see which one doesn't belong on the list and uninstall it.

you have to go into your registry (ie. run regedit) and search for the instances of commonnames, then remove them... It's bundled with iMesh.
