Hello everyone,
I want to sell this domain name. This domain is not a developed site.
It can be used for a sports site like football, hockey, basketball etc. It can also be used for a teens site, or a site about an individual who was born2score... It is a very catchy name and although it has 3 words in it, visitors will surely remember it.
I wanted to develope it myself but have no time, so i'm selling it for $1000 - Yes this is the price. You can buy it through greatdomains.com and the process will be easy, or you can contact me directly and we will take care of the transition alone.

email: eitanfk@hotmail.com
Or just post a message here.
Yours sincerely,
Eitan Finkel

sorry, but a domain name to me anyways, is not worth anything, without a co-responding site, I agree with them rebels that say that a domain name is only worth what is behind the site.

Hi,
Well i disagree with that. A good domain name is a great start for a site. When the name is catchy, people will go to that site often.

You're both right... and wrong.
It's true that more and more, people are looking beyond the domain name to the actual traffic that site is currently getting (or the number of type-ins if we're just talking about the domain name).
At the same time, there is still the top 0.25% of all domain names that will be attractive to buyers, at the right price, for the name alone.
The problem with the original post is that born2score.com in no way falls into this 0.25%. Names with a number in them are inherently worth less than names without, and the expression "born to score" is not common enough to make this domain a winner. Hence the $1,000 price-tag is overpriced for the domain alone.

Additional: perhaps it helps to put things into perspective by talking about some domain *purchases* I have made in the last few months (some of which are still closing)
I bought:-
MyCompanion.com for $1,000
1961.com for $300
1941.com for $940
GarlicBread.com for $1,010 (overpriced, but it goes with my PizzaToppings.com!)
O3.org (Ozone symbol) $1,200
AHappyNewYear.com $350
In all the above cases, both the seller and I felt the price was fair (after all, that's the key criterion for any sale!) I also dropped out 4 domain name auctions because the prices dropped out of the "reasonable" zone - and in 3 of the 4 cases the top bidder reneged on the bid and the buyer came back to me. I did not accept any of these offers.
Hope this puts a little more perspective on the domain name valuation/pricing issue.

Hi Edwin,
I agree with what you say about the top 0.25% domain names that are attractive to buyers and that my domain, born2score.com doesn't fall into this category. However it is not all black and white, if this domain would have fit in my opinion to the top 0.25%, then i would have sold it for a lot lot more than a thousand bucks. I beleive that born2score.com is a very catchy name for a sports site, like hockey or basketball, or a site about an individual. And that people who would visit it, will remember the name without a bookmark. Also because there is a number in the name, this is what makes it even more catchy, as opposed to what you say. That's why i beleive with all my heart that a $1000 is a fair price.
Best regards !
