geek/chat Help

1) DO NOT CLOSE the small login window unless you want to terminate your chat session.

2) Immediately after you login, click the Settings button in the lower right hand corner of the chat window. Next choose a cool icon and view the other three tabs for stuff you may wish to complete.

3) Click and hold down your mouse button on the main chat window. Drag up and down to see the entire thread since your login.

4) Please bookmark the chat.htm page and ONLY this page. The login URL will change for security reasons so please DO NOT bookmark that page.

5) I saw some "abusive behavior" in geek/chat. What can I do about this? We have a very very strict ZERO TOLERANCE policy with respect to everything that occurs on this site. The links at the bottom of this page permit you to read them. Please send us an Email with your name, your screen name, your real name, your location (City/State/Country) and the exact time and date this event occurred quoted from your location.

Moderated VIP geek/chat Procedures

1) All of these Moderated VIP geek/chat sessions will require advance Email registration which includes a click back confirmation. On a given date and time the entire service will require a password to login. Please insure that you register early using your "real" Email address for security and reliability. These sessions are limited to 200 members.

2) The procedure for our Moderated geek/chat is as follows:
The room is switched to Moderator mode. This means that when you send questions or comments at the appropriate time, they will only be seen by the Moderators and VIP. Next:

VIP answers this question
Moderator asks Members, any questions on this?
Moderator posts member question to room
VIP answers member questions
After all appropriate member questions are answered, we move on to the next question.

3) Please insure that your question pertains to the specific issue under discussion and is asked at the appropriate time.

4) Your questions are answered in the order they are received. A "cue" of member questions may be necessary so please be patient.

5) A complete transcript of the session will be posted on our geek/talk BB and this site for your review and further discussion.

6) Please use your geek/talk Bulletin Board "screen name" when you login.

7) Disruptive behavior, violating our Terms & Conditions and or BB rules, will immediately result in your permanent removal from the chat session. We will also permanently invoke our ZERO TOLERANCE policy. No warning will be issued.
